This is my first Portland Leather (Patina) purchase - a pair of pointed flats in black. I like the looks and feel of the shoes. The quality is good. I based my size on the EU sizing (36) and purchased the equivalent US size (5.5), and I'd say it fits true to size.
I bought the Dune pointed flats and couldn’t be happier! I was looking for a shoe to wear for work and for a casual day. I had to buy some ultra low cut socks so you couldn’t see them (I have to wear socks with shoes….it’s a thing for me!) I am looking forward to breaking these beauties in and wearing them everywhere.
I wear an 8.5 and that’s what I bought! I can wear them comfortably with thin socks. They do hug a bit around the toes but there is plenty of room for me everywhere else.
I bought these for my step daughter and she is thrilled! Said they fit right out of the box and be leather is lovely soft.
Love my black pointed flats! So stylish, so comfy. Can’t ask for more!
I originally purchased the pointed flat in dune size 7.5 (I usually wear a 7.5 sandal and 8.0 tennis shoe or boot) and found them true to size. I did notice with the dune pair, that the right shoe was larger, fit looser, and had a wider opening than the left shoe, which fit perfectly. The texture of the shoe was very smooth, which was surprising as I was under the impression dune was a pebbled leather. I decided to send them back and try the black pair, also size 7.5. These fit perfectly (both shoes), but one shoe had a small spot on it that was only visible under certain lighting (maybe an oil smudge?) and a less than uniform seam along the top opening (left and right shoes were different here; one shoe was smooth and one looked lopped off--it was very obvious and would have driven me crazy). I decided the style of the shoe didn't work for the clothing I already own, so, sadly, I shipped these back too. They seem like quality, well made shoes, if you can get the right pair. The 2 I received seemed more like AP grade.
These shoes are very pretty and would have been perfect for my job interview if the size was consistent across Patina shoe styles. They are too wide out of the box and my heel comes out when I flex my toes, before they are even stretched from wearing them. It's unfortunate I have to return them and I don't dare to try a smaller size since they are pointy and I don't want my toes to hurt when wearing the shoes all day.
